Member Henry Bird authored a great history of his Broads One Design, Lapwing, for the Association for Gaff Rig Sailing’s magazine. Lapwing lives at CSC, along with several other boats from the same class. They are often to been seen out racing on a Sunday afternoon. Reproduced with kind permission of the Association for Gaff Rig Sailing (OGA). Photographs by Geoff Oliver, John Benson, Marion Bryant and Julie Wood.

Photos below give a taste of the range of sailing that happens at CSC – from juniors racing in Optimists in the safe learning grounds of our river, to mixed dinghy races, and half decker races too. Once or twice a year some of the bigger boats also go through the lock, through Ely, and race near Littleport which provides a great excuse for an adventure!
CSC in the press! One of our members wrote an excellent article for the popular boating magazine Water Craft. Opposite is the first two pages of the article. The full article features in the March/April 26 issue, available from certain Newsagents and online from Watercraft Magazine back issues
